About Our Camp

The camp typically begins the last Sunday in June and ends the last Sunday in July or first Sunday in August. The youth stay with host families in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth area while they are here and become part of their family.

Throughout the 5 week stay, they experience many things associated with Texas such as rodeos, line dancing, Bar-B-Q and much more.

The first week is mostly getting acclimated to the new time zone and familiar with their families and other youth in the area. The second week is spent in Lake Texoma where many activities are planned for them. They return for a couple of days and then off again to the state capital, Austin.

In Austin, they will be hosted by a different set of host families. They will receive a VIP guided tour of the capital as well as the Bob Bullock museum. There is shopping, dining and much, much more.

Upon arriving back in the Dallas area, they have just a few days to relax and they are off again to Lubbock. In Lubbock they are welcomed typically with a Texas style Bar-B-Q, music and dancing. They have the opportunity to go horse back riding, tour many different attractions and see a world renowned play about Texas. Once again they head back "home" for the final leg of their trip. The last week here is more sightseeing, shopping for last minute souvenirs and the Farewell Dance.
